[edit]Where I hang out.Red Bank is a town in New Jersey situated on the Navesink River. It is unique in its largely independently owned shops and it's artsy coffee shops. Red Bank is seen in the New Jersey Trilogy, specifically the movies Chasing Amy (a shot outside Jack's Music Shop and Marine Park), and in Dogma (a shot takes place outside of St. James Church). Exit 109 on the GSP. Red Bank is indeed a cool place, though it has grown increasingly yuppy in the past few years. The coffee shops are all good except for Starbuck's (ass) and The Internet Cafe allows cafe goers to surf the internet while drinking coffee, in addition to a killer improv show on the weekends, ImprovJam ( www.improvjam.com ). Also, there is an awesome diner, Broadway Diner, on Monmouth Street where I have spent many a late night. To top it all, it's Kevin Smith's headquarters. I highly recommend checking it out to any in the area.
Dude. dead bank sucks. I love it, but it sucks. Lost its soul way back before i even hung out there, bout when it became the "Hippest town in NJ." ('96?) What might be interesting to mention would be the 70's race riots spilling over from Asbury and the "yuppification" since then. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by [[Special:Contributions/#NOVAR#__undefined__}}}}|#NOVAR#__undefined__}}}}]] ([[User talk:#NOVAR#__undefined__}}}}|talk]]) #NOVAR#__undefined__}}}}

[edit]I reformatted and restructured this article to be more-detail oriented. I redirected a link that was ostensibly to the official Borough of Red Bank website (but, instead, went to a privately owned website affiliated with Red Devil Games, a retailer on Monmouth Street, Red Bank, NJ). I added historical detail and political detail.

[edit]I eliminated the "Artists" section. It's inaccurate and uses bias language regarding sexual orientation. I modified the discussion on Smith's Dogma. While set in Red Bank, it was actually filmed in Pittsburgh and Wisconsin.

The "External Links" section mentions The Battle of Red-Bank, which has nothing to do with Red Bank, NJ 07701. The Revolutionary War Battle of Red-Bank ocurred on the Delaware River.

[edit]I've cut the erroneous reference to the Battle of Red Bank.

[edit]There's a lot of unsubstantiated, subjective comments that have been inserted in the article (Red Bank's status as a nightlife "hot spot" or an artistic "mecca" are two examples). I've tried to prune these references. They take away from the quality of information previously provided regarding demographics, politics, etc. If someone wants to put in substantiated, objective comments about these subjects, though, I would applaud that.--TPB 17:58, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Someone who knows more should clean it up. If it is factually untrue about the people and location, then it should be corrected or editted away. I don't know so I just changed the wording. Someone who does know, please help us. Chivista 15:18, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
As of right now it seems right... though "celebrity" is pretty high for many. Wyndorf? I mean he's a cool guy and a really chill neighbor, but celebrity? 129.81.180.29 20:00, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
