The image is not a negative, obviously. The OP should have read the article's Dedrick ferrotype subsection, which says, "The image shows Bonney wearing his holstered Colt revolver on his left side. This led to the belief that he was left-handed, without taking into account that the ferrotype process produces reversed image." Fixed It was more than "typos". It was part of some dubious info added a while ago that was cited to an inaccessible source, and that contradicted every reliable source we do have access to.
