The concept of presbyterium is one that originated in the early church and expressed the collegiality of the presbyteroi (priests) with their overseer, or episkopoi (bishop). As Father Coulter notes in his paper, the post-conciliar Roman Catholic Church after 1962, sought to recover its early roots where collaborative ministry and collegiality were the norm. Given the current curial structure administration in the Vatican, it appears that any term that lends credence to the notion of collegiality and collaboration in ordained ministry is viewed rather unfavorably. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aloysius Patacsil (talk • contribs) 17:55, 3 August 2004 (UTC)
