Manual of Style: capitalisation of the band name
[edit]Wikipedia's Manual of Style is vast and complex (no wonder, with millions of subjects to cover), but MOS:LCITEMS suggests that of Montreal should be title-cased at the start of sentences (I have actually emailed the record label to ascertain if the band name is trademarked; I may hear back). Bearing MOS:THECAPS and MOS:THEMUSIC in mind; it is fair to assume the leading "o" should be lowercase elsewhere. Any thoughts? Fred Gandt · talk · contribs

Yes, there are many thoughts:
- Talk:Of Montreal/Archive 1 § of Montreal or Of Montreal
- Talk:Of Montreal/Archive 1 § Lower Case Title
- Talk:Of Montreal/Archive 1 § Reviving 'of'/'Of'
- Talk:Of Montreal/Archive 1 § LOWERCASE "of" Montreal
- Talk:Of Montreal/Archive 1 § Lowercase o in title?
But what is the consensus? Fred Gandt · talk · contribs

After reading all of those helpful discussions (sarcasm FTW), I think it fair to conclude that there is no consensus. Until Unless one erupts, we will have to stick to MOS guidelines as best we can. Fred Gandt · talk · contribs

I just want to know why the note at the beginning of the article is not consistent with the content in the artcle. Contrary to what the note says, the band's name is written as of Montreal at the beinning of all independent clauses not at the start of a sentence. Jdjd021 (talk) 18:15, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
