Pollinator: parthenocarpic is an adjective. I think this article should be moved to parthenocarpy, the noun (as your definition more or less indicates). Any objections? - Marshman 17:34, 10 Nov 2003 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. Pollinator 20:09, 10 Nov 2003 (UTC)
Should watermelons be added to the list? Or are the commercial "seedless watermelons" not technically parthenocarpic ?
The following sentence needs a reference or some examples: "Plants moved from one area of the world to another may not always be accompanied by their pollinating partner and the lack of pollinators has spurred human cultivation of parthenocarpic varieties." A lot of parthenocarpic cultivars require no pollination to start with so the statement may not be accurate. Plantguy 22:16, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
I have found a ref that show how Auxin and Glibberin can induce parthenocarpy. But it doesnt said that it is commercialy used. It's a laboratory technique. It was used long time ago but nowdays it's not commercialy used.--Basile gp (talk) 17:27, 16 September 2014 (UTC) Autors : Juan C. Serrani, Mariano Fos, Alejandro Atarés, José L. Parthenocarpy in Cannabis
[edit]See https://www.researchgate.net/publication/343988256_'Cannabis'_ontologies_I_Conceptual_issues_with_Cannabis_and_cannabinoids_terminology. Jojalozzo (talk) 23:04, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
strange (incomplete?) sentence
[edit]in 'Commercial importance', at the end of the first paragraph:
"It has been suggested that Cannabis could explain the difference in the plant's yields in active compounds.[5]"
is a quite unclear sentence - seems like parts are missing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:3033:D:4604:1:2:C5A0:1CFD (talk) 18:46, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
