[edit]I just found today that Fred Gwynne was also a great illustrator and writer of children's books. Amazing guy...
- I know! The reason I looked him up just now is due to a freaky coincidence. I'm a new teacher...well at a new school at least...and yesterday I was getting my room set up. Had the TV on to TV Land and was watching bit and pieces of the Munsters and the Addams Family. Later I came across a book someone was getting rid of -- "A Little Pigeon Toad" by a Fred Gwynne. I'd never heard that the Fred Gwynne had done kids' books, and this book had no "about the author" information on it. So of course I came to Wikipedia to check things out, and I find out that he was a singer, artist, and childrens book author. He apparently was a really great guy...too bad that he got typecast as Herman, but he seemed to have overcome a good bit of that before he passed. His role in Cousin Vinny is a hoot. And I'm perhaps one of the only people who loves the film Water. PurpleChez 10:33, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

"most memorable"
[edit]I enjoyed this article until the last paragraph that calls Mr. Gwynne's performance in My Cousin Vinny the most memorable of his career. The statement is, in my opinion, a ridiculous opinion in light of the totality of Mr. Gwynne's work. It must have been made by a very young person, or at least a person unfamiliar with Mr. Gwynne's earlier career. Regardless, it's someone's opinion and it taints the rest of the article. I think it should be reworded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.54.95.126 (talk) 13:21, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
