Hi, It looks like you meant to add your userpage to Category:Protestant_Wikipedians, but you've linked to Category:Category:Protestant_Wikipedians instead. I've taken the liberty of changing this - hope that it ok. SeventyThree(Talk) 04:48, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mec Vannin

[edit]

What you removed was not vandalism, but quotations from Mec Vannin's own website, along with the links. If they put it on their own website, why is it no good for wikipedia? I take it you are probably the individual who has been repeatedly (and anonymously) removing categories, links, and actual quotations from various related articles. --ImpartialCelt 18:42, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

[edit]

Hi there!

Thanks for reverting the vandalism done in my userpage! I still don't understand why people do it, but, at least it was in my user page, not in a Wikipedia article...

Thanks again,

Milena

  • I have marked this page for cleanup because of the gap between the "Electoral scores achieved by CDU" header and the actual table marking the election results. My knowledge of wikicode isn't good enough to fix this. Can a lovely individual offer her or his assistence? aliceinlampyland 19:06, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
  • I've noticed that post in the discussion page, I know that it was centuries ago and you probably don't even remember it. I just want to ask what do you mean. I am not a native speaker, perhaps I'm missing something in your message. By the way, I've noticed that you were in Portugal, nice thing, It's not for being Portuguese, but it's a nice country, come back! I'm from Aveiro. Afonso Silva 01:53, 31 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Moving Dutch Parties

[edit]

I saw you proposed moving some Dutch parties (DS'70, PPR, CHU, RKSP). But I think you missed out the Algeemene Bond van RK-kiesverenigingen, the Reformatorische Politieke Federatie, the Onafhankelijke Senaatsfractie and GroenLinks. Do you intend to move them all yourself or do you need a hand with that? C mon 08:07, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wriston Bolender

[edit]

Who is Wriston Bolender? Are you him, or is he a friend or relative? patsw 14:56, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea who that is. An earlier version of the Jackson Heights page said that "Jackson Heights holds Queens' largest population of gays and its own gay community. Their spokesperson is Wriston Bolender." That statement is unverifiable (census information on gays?) and it's absurd that they would have a 'spokesperson'. I went back and an earlier version of the page said he was a photographer, so I removed the later point and reinserted him as a photographer. aliceinlampyland 22:23, 7 May 2006 (UTC).[reply]

British Spellings izes and ises

[edit]

I noticed your had entered "corrections" on British articles where words ended with the suffix "ize" or "izing". Using "z" is mistakingly believed to be American, but is in fact the preferred stlye among many British accademics including the compilers of the Oxford English Dictionary. Ending words in "ise" is a late development in Commonwealth English which gained poularity after the second world war. If you are able, look in any reference book or dictionary of the early C20 or before and you would be hard pushed to see "ise". Having said all that, both versions are now acceptable in modern British English, but there is no necessity to change it from one to another (I think also there might be a few isolated exceptioms where one form is correct but not the other). Harvard...

[edit]

Quote:Harvard was not begun by French Jesuits.

I never said Harvard was begun by French Jesuits, but that the college was founded by French Jesuits, it's a fact, an historical fact. It was made for Catholics missions and the Indians. The Harvard college (Colonial/American) was founded one year later on the Jesuits college (French Jesuits, because of the Indians and English, were kicked out of the area). Of course Harvard have nothing to do with the French jesuits, but the college itself, kind of yes! (I don't think we can find any trace of Jesuits buildings today, but you know what I mean...)

Dear Alice. I noticed your edit to Geir Haarde and while strictly speaking it appears to be more or less accurate it seems to lack a NPOV. He seems to have been "convicted" via a political process rather than a criminal court. I wonder if there is a more neutral form of words that could be used in the lead. Just my 2cents. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Polish mythology redirects

[edit]

Many years ago, you converted a number of articles about polish mythology into redirects. Five of those redirects are now being discussed at WP:RFD. We would certainly love to hear your input at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2016 November 11#Polish mythology redirects. Best, -- Notecardforfree (talk) 03:06, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jamaat ul-Fuqra

[edit]

Hi. You removed almost an entire article at Jamaat ul-Fuqra in this edit, most of which was sourced, with the edit summary "I have removed all unsourced, outdated, and POV claims". I've reverted your deletion. Let's instead please update it, reference it, and edit it for WP:NPOV. Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 07:01, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you'd like to update, reference, edit, and revise this article, please, go right ahead. I have full-time employment which precludes me from being able to dedicate time to such a project. As it stands the article is essentially one big unsourced or very poorly sourced allegation of violence and terrorism. That is unacceptable, both from the standpoint of building a credible encyclopedia and for having a basic sense of social responsibility. I am reverting your reversion. Like I said, if you want to write an encyclopedic article, please, do so. aliceinlampyland (talk) 11:05, 8 December 2016 (UTC).[reply]
Addendum to add that you will find the references is actually non-extant, (one leads back to a Portlandia fan page); inaccessible, decades-old; POV and so forth. This article reads like it was written to vilify its subject. This group is being reported in the political media at the moment; this page needs to revert to stub status NOW so that violence is not inflicted on this group with the contribution of a poor-quality Wikipedia article. aliceinlampyland (talk) 11:31, 8 December 2016 (UTC).[reply]
Please stop blanking the article. I'm happy to discuss the required changes with you, and I agree that its tone is mostly negative. But there are valid sources there for some of the claims, so drive-by blanking is not the answer. Thank you, Wikishovel (talk) 11:43, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I challenge you to remove all content that is not properly sourced and see what you're left with. I want to reiterate that leaving this page as-is invites violence against the people it's about. aliceinlampyland (talk) 11:49, 8 December 2016 (UTC).[reply]
So I get to do all the editing myself, under threat of the whole article being blanked again, because you're too busy? Nice. Wikishovel (talk) 12:05, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
