It would be nice to include a definition for the UFOlogist "flap" (a series of similar sightings in a small area over a short amount of time). I'll try to put something together. Or would it be better to put this sort of thing in the Wiktionary? I see that they don't have any entry for "flap" at all. Ricia

This really should be split and turned into a disambiguation page Gwalla | Talk 19:45, 23 Jul 2004 (UTC)

This should include the modern networking / computer usage of a service, routing table entry, or interface going up and down. — Hobart 15:02, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I'm an idiot, this is a disambiguation page. I blame the booze.
  • While I do accknowledge the term "flap" for labia majora/minora, I think both the terms 'lady' and 'stretched out of control' need to go.

I can't find any references to the use of the word "flap" to refer to a mass ufo sighting, other than in the "controversial" sense. Not sure if it is appropriate usage. Mapetite526 20:32, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From Operation Trojan Horse, John Keel notes; March 30, 1966, was a flap date, and local newspapers from coast to coast carried dozens of other Type I sightings that day. Many of them involved police officers, pilots, and other above-average witnesses.
