I've just converted all references to proper cite, and tallied up the Reliable Sources for this page that stand at 3 right now: EDGE, Retro Gamer and the Broadcasting Standards Commission. Untitled

12/08/2004 - Started Digitiser page. Hopefully myself and/or others will eventually be able to expand it into something far more substantial. To any seasoned Wikipedians who read this, I would like to point out that I am a novice at this, and therefore if I have made any idiot mistakes (highly likely), then I would like to apologise profusely and blame it on inexperience. I hope that this new entry will encourage others to add any Digitiser-related knowledge to it. RJ

Digitiser is gone? I could have sworn it was still there on Channel 4 last time I checked, on 370.

This article has grown be so much since I last took a look at it. Well done to the editors, Digitiser really does own your face. Revealing Turner the Worm

The most controversial "Reveal-O" (as they were often called - see "Digi-Speak") appeared right at the end of Digitiser's life, on the final page of the final letters section. It purported to be a picture of "the real Turner The Worm (a cartoon character from Teletext also created by Rose) being sick". Pressing the reveal button then uncovered an image that many have likened to a recently-ejaculated penis.

As unusual as it seems, it did actually exist. It was officially meant to be Turner The Worm, although it didn't look much like the actual Turner, and rather looked more like that mentioned above. It only really makes sense once it is mentioned like that, otherwise it looks innocent, however (hence how it got past the censors). The actual images that were used for Digitiser can be found here, with "Turner The Worm" being further down the page. Failing that, Biffo himself has mentioned it numerous times, and you can either ask him on his forum, or I'm sure there is a link to email him on his blog, and you can always ask him there. Of course, I personally feel that particular sentence could perhaps be worded a little better, especially that last sentence. --Dreaded Walrus 22:36, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

In one of Tim Moore's (Mr Hairs') books he recalls having a desire to replace a teletext screen with a graphic of an ejaculating penis, which I always took (fnarr) as a reference to Turner's dark demise. Nach0king 20:25, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

lets someone remove all the ridiculous and redundant links like THE A TEAM, and post some pictures and links to relevant topics and some source references on this page?

How about a screen shot of digitiser on a television, and a remote control showing the reveal button, and a sample of some of the famous digitiser characters?

More history about Digi too please, including the infamous premium rate cheat code telephone lines that Teletext made loads of money from, despite constantly moving the page numbers and format around to try and make people forget where and what it was...

Ideally, ALL articles would be well-referenced. Just look at any of our featured articles to see the standard. The reason why we have that tag there is because Wikipedia articles should not be original research. That is, just like all other respectable encyclopedias, we only write what is already known.
