Too many genres
[edit]I think Hard rock and blues rock is enough to cover it and people will get the point. 2602:306:8B83:4860:58D:190C:D4F2:3950 (talk) 01:55, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
Harmonica
[edit]There's a harmonica solo in "Waiting for the Bus". Who plays it? -lifeform (talk) 05:19, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- Billy Gibbons plays harmonica (and fiddle) on Tejas, so I've always assumed it was him. The original vinyl record sleeve has no musician credits at all. Martinevans123 (talk) 12:18, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- So why have we now got James Harman credited on two tracks?? As far as I know, there is no harmonica at all on "Jesus Just Left Chicago". Martinevans123 (talk) 20:13, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- I've fixed it. Harman played on the live version of both songs on their 2016 live album, but he didn't work with the band until 1996. Jules TH 16 (talk) 20:56, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:02, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
My 1973 vinyl cover just says: "Thanks to ROBIN BRYAN / BRIAN STUDIO and TERRY MANNING / ARDENT STUDIO". It doesn't say who engineered which tracks and where. Similarly with allmusic.com. Anyone got any better sources? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:49, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
- According to Manning's own forum posts, he wasn't there during the initial tracking phase and only became involved with overdubbing and editing.Jules TH 16 (talk) 20:56, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, well I guess that's as good as we're gonna get. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:03, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- In case you want an actual quote, here's him saying it. So, Brian was recording engineer, and Terry did additional recording and mixing. https://repforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/topic,5576.msg52785.html#msg52785 Jules TH 16 (talk) 21:19, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- Haha yes, I'd seen that before with regards to the segue between "Jesus Just Left Chicago" and "Waitin For The Bus". We already have the PRW forum as a source in the article (although we probably shouldn't). Martinevans123 (talk) 21:27, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
