Michigan's link to the Prussian system of education

Can anyone verify whether the claim in a previous version of this article seen here, that Michigan "was the first U.S. modern university based on the European model" is true? The claim was uncited, so I removed it, however it seems like it was probably taken from the Prussian education system article itself, which speaks about Michigan in the United States section. The source provided there was in German, so I couldn't verify it's relevance for this article myself, and I found very few mentions of this in English sources. Regardless of the validity of the claim, I don't think it's really needed in the introduction, especially as the second sentence of the article, but if anyone here is an expert on the history of education in the United States and would like to weigh in on this, would be interested in more input. Why get rid of the science section in alumni?

I think the page has been vandalised as the "science" section for alumni has been removed entirely. FunctionalPhil (talk) 19:04, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Museums section needs updating

The following statement in the museums section is no longer true:

"The building also houses three research museums: the Museum of Anthropology, Museum of Paleontology. Today, the collections are primarily housed and displayed in the Ruthven Museums Building which was completed in 1928.^[1]"

The Museum of Natural History is located in the Biological Sciences building, while the Research Museums Center houses the Museum of Anthropology, Museum of Paleontology, Museum of Zoology, and Herbarium.
